Dana claimed they're basically gonna force him to defend his title in his next match-up...Jose and Frankie fight in July...that should be a war....if they're lucky, the winner will be able to heal up for the main event at MSG in November...but I'm thinking that fight is gonna be so tough that the interim champ won't be ready until the NYE card, at the earliest.

I doubt Zuffa wants their cash cow to wait that long...he's probably gonna wind up fighting at lightweight. Either Diaz in the main event @ the labor day weekend card or Barboza in a co-main "punishment" at that card. They want him nowhere near welterweight. :whoa:

People quit all the time...Sometimes it is the best thing to do...

Dude left $10M on the table, because he didn't want to do a couple of TV appearances? A dude who built his image in front the cameras...

McGregor doesn't want the Diaz fight anymore, and he also doesn't want to face the media and explain his "L" (everything is easier when you are winning)...It was an emotional decision that he initially made...But when he regained his senses, he realized he was putting much on the line for a "penis size measuring contest"...

So, how does he correct his mistake without (a) seriously breaching contract (b) looking like a poosy...? Start a "minor" fight with the UFC...Now he is off the card because "the UFC is putting its foot down and setting precedence"...Don't for 1 second think that Team McGregor didn't know about Nick Diaz when they decided to not do the media rounds for UFC200...

Kill 2 birds with 1 stone...After UFC200...McGregor will fight the winner of Aldo vs Edgar II...The revenge fight with Nate Diaz will still be available if McGregor were to lose his 145lb belt....

This is a MUCH better path than going to 170LB and facing a fighter who finished you (with 11 days of training), then you have to come back down to 145lb to defend your belt (a weight cut that was already difficult without the excess weight)...

It is a SOUNDLY logical and REALISTIC opinion

:ehh:
