JAY CANNOT DO WHAT NAS DOES. NOT EVEN CLOSE. Jay-Z fans want to pretend he can while they're forced to listen to another album full of blandness (from a lyrics standpoint.)

Meanwhile a lot of rappers can do what Jay does better than Jay. The only difference is the brand.

LIG = 5 MICS.

MCHG = 4 MICS.

Which rappers can spit better swag lyrics than Hov ? :stopitslime:

This thread might as well be called "Nas stans comfort each other by comparing a year old album to one that leaked 12 hours ago" :snoop:

NY all day..Da Stead & BK..
I bumped this Jay album straight thru like 5 times now...I can't say I like it better than Life Is Good at all...but I like it...that's all that really matters at the end of the day...it's either u like it or u don't...all this comparing lately is getting annoying...honestly when I listen to it I don't even think of LIG for even a second...but I knew fans on both ends of the spectrum was gonna have a field day...which is why I just sat back and didnt even give my opinion on the album as a whole in the official thread until I listened to it thoroughly...there's shyt I like on it..there's shyt I don't like...main thing I will say about this album is there's not many songs that REALLY stand out to me...like..he even had those on his albums that weren't so good...like songs like The Prelude and Lost Ones and an underrated song off that album..I Made It...or a song off Blueprint 3 which ended up being one of my favorite Jay joints of all time...which is Thank You...even tho those albums as a whole weren't that great...they had those kinda stand outs...whereas this album he just released is a pretty good album..with no real legit standouts to me...

Nas won and Jay won

they made albums that both of their fanbases can look across to the other side and respect and have both found a lane that works for them.

And look, they cool with each other like legit hangout no beef there no competition.

Just enjoy the music and hope Kendrick, Cole, ASAP and them age gracefully like them

Shoulda put a poll up...but yeah, Life is Good >>>>> Magna Carta, Holy Grail, and I don't think it's really close. That's not a knock on MCHG, cause I'm really digging the album. Production is bananas, and Jay is straight on the mic. I just feel that what Nas did on LiG, I just don't think Jay is capable of pulling that off. To each his own though...

I don't understand how a fan of "Hip-Hop" can possibly hate on LiG. shyt was such a beautiful album. Some of y'all just try way too hard. :manny:

Yessir, that's really all that matters. Like someone said on twitter last night...you got mufukkas that think you can only like one album at a time. It was more speaking about currently, with the whole Ye/Cole/Wale/Jay album releases, but it pertains here as well.

Too many ppl caught up in the Jay vs. Nas thing, that they really think they have to pick a side and shyt. shyt is hilarious.

This isn't even close. Baffled at how this is even a debate.

Great Lyrics + Good Beats + Theme/Concept = Great or Classic Album (LIG)

Mediocre Lyrics + Great Beats + Weak/No Content = Good/Forgettable Album (MCHG)

LIG wins.
