Hold Ya Head>>>>>>>>
But I was bumping Me Against The World today and as well as IllMatic,
If I Die 2nite, Old School and Lord Knows recently became my favorite joints off the album now compared to the usual favorites such as,
Death Around The Corner, So many Tears, Dear Mama and etc,
MATW was 2Pac at how rawest state ever,
T7DT is 2Pac at his highest pinnacle,
During his Makaveli era,
He had a powerful connection to the Most High,
Even his unreleased music from that era trumps all,
But MATW was his complete best work,
You cannot skip any song on that album.
I use to recite his first verse on If I Die 2nite religiously for like everyday for a year straight.
No other rapper/MC could make me do that,
Ever.

MATW is Pac's crown jewel. MATW had people coming OUT of crack houses to talk about how bad they loved their moms. MATW is a true work. them next 2 have asterisks.

MATW is when he got hot for real in NYC but y'all love to dismiss NYC so ga'head be bamma.

North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
The 7 Day Theory >

Me Against The World is a dope album but after all these year I still bump 7 Day Theory. Maybe its because I lived in Cali when that album drop so I have so many memories and the whole vibe causes me to be biased. :manny:

MATW is easily Pac's best, most personal and 'local' album.

It is extremely difficult to choose which album is better :mindblown: Both albums were classics. :wow:
MATW album, my older cousins and uncles were playin that album nonstop when it came out. I swiped one of their cd's from them and played that album for about 5months in rotation. MATW had so many songs on there that had so much emotion, passion anger and pain in them

When I 1st heard "Lord Knows" and Shed so many tears" I was like gatdamn. Lord Knows was absolutley powerful. And "shed so many tears" meant a lot to me because nyggaz had that shyt on repeat when 1 of the homies in the neighborhood got killed by the police :snoop: I saw grown men cry while that shyt was playin :wow:

And every nygga I the Bay was playin "the games been good to me" ft Richie Rich. We played tha shyt out to the fullest.

But the timing and content of the 7 day theory was eerie. Pac was killed, but all the rumors that surrounded Pac not really bein dead. Pac had been predicting his death for about a year. All the drama, beef and controversy surroundin Pac & death row had heightend the entirevibe of the 7day theory.

Nobody even knew that shyt was comin out. It just dropped. And listenin to "against all odds" made Pac seem like a somewhat of a mythical type "immortal figure" :wow:
Every song on there was a classic. Here wasn't 1 song that I skipped. On MATW there were songs I didn't fucc with tho. "7 day theory" every song was fire

I'm givin the edge to "7 day theory"

Both are classic, I listen to 7 day more, but I think that's cos the mood of matw is so depressing.

Overall, I'd still say matw is pacs best album.

I loved when hip hop sound was "local" , imagine drake being on matw :mindblown:

Nowadays, everyone tries to cater for everyone and it fukks up the whole feeling of a true artists album.

This is a subject that has been long debated between my friends. I can't be made at someone having this opinion at all because they are both classic. MATW is timeless.

But for me, 7 Day Theory was on a whole other track. The zone Pac was in, the shyt he was talking about just blows me away to this day. Every time i hear it, i just zone out ... it takes me somewhere other albums dont.

I never thought about the scorned NY chumps bein mad about AEOM & 7DT... should EC opinions even count when discussin Pac?

7DT was so potent... its like takin a shot of 151... MATW is more like drinkin ya favorite beer...

A lot of the songs on MATW sound dated.

If I die tonight, Death around the corner is my favorite songs off of "MATW".

Pac was on a whole another level on 7 day theory, most of the songs still sound fresh. Classic.

:dwillhuh: at the OP mentioned how Pac was exessive with dissing Dre.

I thought I was the only one that found that to be annoying as well, dude was spamming his regular songs with disses and stupid shyt like "Bad boy killa" "random NYC rapper die slow!"

:snoop:

Why do people say this? He only dissed rappers on like 3 songs.

With the second half of my post that you bolded, I was talking about the songs he recorded on Death Row in general, Tattoo Tears OG has Pac dissing Bad Boy & Mobb Deep on the outro :what:

Takes shots on made nikkaz...

Hell for a hustler OG on the outro...

See my point?

These wasn't even subliminals, he was blatantly name dropping these dudes on every other song, IMO Pac should just kept disses on diss songs where they belong, what if Pac lived and he eventually squashed his beef with Bad Boy & Mobb Deep, he wouldn't able to perform a lot of dope songs he made in concert because it has disses at nikkas hes cool with now.
