You missing out on a classic. The problem most people had with it was that it was too "dark." it was advertised incorrectly as a lighthearted comedy, but audiences were shocked with how dark it really was, so they rejected it. But it doesn't excuse the fact that the movie is really great with a great story and a career defining performance for Jim Carrey.

Hilarious movie.
I think I laughed the most at the part where they meet with the dirty cop, who pulls a gun on em. Hank says "Hard to hit a moving target isn't it?" and starts ducking and dipping like he's doing something, right before he gets knocked out.
