Mene Gene WAS the best. As time passes by, you really see, in comparison to the newest generation, how lucky Vince had these guys to help him out.

You can't replace Mean, only try to match his standards.

Not to mention in his era where Keyfabe was real, so you couldn't break charecter, you had to be stoic. Try keeping straight face to a bunch of coked-out, drunkered, steroid fueled wrestlers yelling into a camera about the goofiest shyt imaginable.

Mean Gene was part of a defining moment in wresting at Bash at the Beach 96 and held it together while that crowd was about to tear that stadium up. Anyone who grew up on WWF knew how vital he was to the whole damn thing back then. He will be missed.

fukked me up when I found out earlier. Gene was the epitome of GOAT announcer. Dude made you believe that a wrestler was unhinged and actually added flavor to a celebration "PUT THAT CIGARETTE OUT!"

Mean Gene was like the added sauce to the complete meal of professional wrestling. He made you believe that the scoops were legit and that Hogan was a piece of shyt for being the 3rd man. There will never be another and it pains me that his legacy will never be continue within the future of professional wrestling. It pains me to see these boring social networking goobers holding up the mic in front of dweebs and both looked out of place. Gene added the summary to a complete novel when it came down to promos and segments.
