It used to be the other way around, ATL back in the day used to be live. Before Lil Jon and social media came to existence, it was among the best for black entertainment.

How old are you?

Lil Jon was putting in work in ATL during the early to mid 90's when Bass was picking up steam so I don't know why you're mentioning him..Him, Smurf, Kilo and others had the music and club scenes poppin.

Yeah, I live out there but I rarely hit the night scene. Once in a while I will go to a lounge(here they are like mini clubs) and just vibe/get a drink or something.

Clubs here are just excessive flexing and broads looking to curve dudes unless you got a section. It's just not my thing. I'd rather chill at the crib.

Certain places like Josephine’s Lounge, Aroma, and Gold Room to an extent is mostly flexing other than that a lot of clubs are chill even though they have sections.

Medusa is small as hell tho just to be fair. It used to be like a Hispanic corner stone and they converted it to a club.:yeshrug:

U can barely move in that bytch and gotta post up somewhere. The whole club consists of 90% VIP sections and one small as section for just standing. :francis:

They made it like that so u have no choice but to get a section and buy bottles. That's y it's visited by so many celebs.

Same way with Josephine’s :francis:

This generation has far less sex than other generations
So the club is not a hub to get p*ssy like in the past

Back in the day everyone was dancing as part of a mating ritual

Now they come to take pics for the gram

Clubbing seems pointless to do every weekend

But once every couple of years I'll get some other couples together and we'll get a table.

I'm the kind of nikka to dance on the table when "Return Of The Mack" comes on though. Life is too short

Medusa is a lounge built specifically for sections and tricking especially from celebs and Africans. No different than anything else on Buford highway.

There are OTHER nightlife venues in the A outside of lounges/stripclubs if you want to drink cheaply or dance but I'll let yall cook lol.
yeah, they just want one thing, when its another thing

I mean the same shyt happened to Vegas. I don't know why they're blaming ATL

The fact I see the same venues being mentioned says all I need to know

Thing about ATL is you gotta hit the lounges. Them clubs will tax your ass with the cover charge then you walk in and its like the vids in the OP:francis:

You can eat in lounges though (basically a club but in a smaller venue, and women actually dance).

Thats just in Atlanta though. Cant speak for most major cities but out here its just different

Yeah,

the game is way different. I grew up promoting parties and even was one of the first adapters to really use social media marketing creating a good database of quality people.

However, now the parties aren't even fun. it's more about being seen than being on the scene. Of course it still pops what with bottles, chicks, and good music but it's nowhere near the same quality.

One thing I've noticed after being around the world the last year and half is how this is a Western thing. You go to other spots, people are dancing their life away, especially in Africa. After I came back from Africa, I went out in DC for Labor Day weekend. We had tables at most spots and it was just a staring contest. Snap has everyone thinking they are Kim K and no one is actually on the floor. Everyone is either at the tables or the bar. I had to dip out and go to an Ethiopian spot just to hear some amharic and afrobeat. At least here people were dancing and having a good time. That's why I'm excited to get back to Africa.

I knew it was Medusa's :mjlol:

To be fair, that shyt is straight when it's not that packed. At that point I would've been gone..

Females are bad in there too

Some spots in atl people still dance I think. I don't club no more.

I usually hit up Peter St. or the cigar bar. Some shyt on the southside still be jumpin too
