that part of town has been poor and desolate for a long ass time tho. my grandpa sold his house over there for bank and all the times i visited growing up the neighborhoods have not improved.

If you want to build up ANY city, the people who cannot keep up with increasing property values will be displaced to some degree... its tough but its a necessary evil. Ive BEEN saying this; Everyone wants a black metropolis but they dont stop to think about whats involved in obtaining that. Bringing in affluent blacks means replacing certain areas and yes relocating poorer ppl. It really sucks and they have a right to be upset, but theres limited alternative
And the Mayor knows this. There are tons of articles on how Lance Bottoms has been tirelessly working to counteract this by spearheading affordable housing alternatives at other parts of the city and is creating a mixed income complex for these people. But you wont hear about this because its easier to just press the C00n button. Too much lazy thinking on here.
