The biggest blow to Meek was the 10 bands reference track releasing before he dropped the diss. HAd he dropped the diss with the reference track, everybody would have just been concerned with the reference track. But they already heard the most egregious one being 10 bands and people didn't care too much. From their the incoherence and confusion of the entire track fukked it all up.
