You're right, there are different definitions of pop. I was considering pop as a genre, not literally "popular music". Commercial sounding rap doesn't mean it's pop imo. Non-commercial is also hard to define, because IYRTITL was one of Drake's least "traditionally commercial" sounding projects but it was very popular.

Either way, my point is that Drake has always considered himself a rapper first and foremost (or at least until his rapper cred got pulled and he overnight became a "singing nikka" ).
