social media formula:

dumb/dumb phrased post

+

mostly fake outrage

+ outrage with identity attached (being African, considering oneself African)

framing this (dumb post) as a threat or attack or slight to collective identity of being African, framing the response posts as defending their identity

+desire for engagement and validation of others (through retweets and likes or follows or whatver)

= this nonsense

yeah I read a whole book about this so I could do this on here from memory.

you can insert any identity or any dumb post, and get the same result. man, woman, racist, non racist, gay, straight, rich, poor, blue collar, white collar, rapper, lawyer, escort, sugar baby, podcaster, it really doesn't matter.

I'm glad you read an interesting book but funny enough the nikkas that bring up fake outrage are usually practicing a form of it:mjlol:

The nikka getting roasted
:mjlol: it ain't that serious:mjlol:

No, it's not that serious, this time---it's just an easy example of how social media can manipulate perception and lower the levels of conversations.

and maybe fake outrage is bad term, more like contrived outrage? That sounds awkward but accurate. As in, if this was a convo in person, people might make a joke, or ask him to explain himself, instead of just assume the absolute worst and something of a reach, and then running with that, like Meek really offended them.

I don't know how people digest twitter and instagram on a daily basis. Not because of the actual content but the low school levels of basic sentence structuring.

Like as far as rappers, you have a thought and you write your lyric but for some reason Meek's dumb ass can not form a thought and type out exactly what his thought was if it isn't music

I typed all that just to really say Meek is a idiot:heh:
