I still find it hilarious that now everybody is a hip-hop purist now.

What's wrong with that? If you love the shyt then you love the shyt. I'm an older cat and been following this shyt since I could remember. If something you love is cheapened to this, why not chime in on it? Why give a pass to Drake when Nelly, Ja Rule, MC Hammer, Vanilla Ice, and countless more all got shytted on for being corporate, sell outs, or just wack as hell by the hip hop community? The backlash that Ice got when he tried to backpedal for the Queen sample was unreal...and that was their golden boy back then. His credibility went down the toilet QUICK man...and now he's doing reality shows. Now this dude gets called out for doing all the stuff that he's doing...and every rule gets thrown out the window.

Ya'll are some clowns. So it's the "machine" & corporations fault that nobody is rocking with Meek? How about the fact that this dude came with a lackluster diss track.

The same people calling Drake's authenticity as a rapper into question, are the same ones who never considered him a lyricist in the first place. So why does it matter now. It's the same way people who don't consider Melo a superstar, but then compare him to a superstar like Bron. Ya'll can't have it both ways.

And we're going to act like "hip-hop is dead", but ya'll have zero problems with garbage cats like Future, Migos, Fetty Wap out making all this music.

Don't talk I'll about Future. He is unstoppable making banging techno tracks in the club. The Coli stans these weak ass non lyrical dudes because of their music.

Funny how when Nas said Hip-hop was dead, he was considered a hater, but now it's dead because everybody is siding with Drake because Meek couldn't deliver a quality diss record for a "beef" that he started. Aight man, ya'll got it :russ:

They always dikkride the c00ns and never the articulate ones

That's kind of true, but its still the rappers, and fans fault. When rappers was complaining about how shyt was going, people said they were hating. Then as the years went on, people started saying they don't want to hear people kick knowledge. Then it went to people saying they don't want to hear a nikka rhyming complex, they just want something that get the bytches to dance. NOW, rap became this, and people are shocked that we lost it?:ohhh:

Even Jay-Z talked about the fans fukking shyt up for artists, and making htem rap street shyt all the time, in the documentary "fade to black".

I'm not saying corporations, and some whites who don't care about rap, didn't play a part, but the majority of the fall came from blacks, latins, and the artists, including the radio/mixtapes DJs, and magazine writers. I'm not with blaming whites on this one. I can't speak for the older music genres that got taken away, but I watched rap get taken away, and it wasn't whites fault. It was greed, and ego.

That is what happens when you make rap music into a parody.

Personally this shyt showed me a whole new perspective to the rap game.

I keep thinking back to how I felt :snoop: by TI for signing Igloo Azalea. And last year me and mah nikkas were calling a lot of rappers c00ns for not calling her out, but after this 'beef' I feel like I finally understand what it's really like to be a rapper in this day and age. You see so much :scust: shyt behind the scenes that you can't talk about without fukking up your pockets (and career really), that at some point it all really becomes "just entertainment".

Meek was right, this shyt is spooky for real. I almost wish I hadn't seen this "beef" take place 'cause ignorance really is bliss.
And now I'm now I'm hearing from comments that rap has been like this for at least a decade and a half? Like, damn. :what:

"fukk being a hip-hop purist, when you spending 50k on Securus" - Lupe Fiasco. I had no idea just how personal that line may be to Lupe Fiasco. Like, how you gon' be a purist when behind the curtains shyt is really a joke?

*sigh*:manny: fukk it tho'. There's more important shyt out there in the world than hip-hop. I still love the music...I don't know that it has a culture still though.
