Last week, Meek Mill released his highly anticipated debut album “Dreams And Nightmares”. Based off the early projections, it was clear that it was going to do well on the charts. According to HDD, Meek’s LP was able to get a solid debut, landing at #2 on the Billboard charts with 167k sold. In other news, Kendrick’s album “good kid m.A.A.d. city” saw a 76% decrease and moved 59k in its second week.

^^ disagree.

That's a fine number for Meek... if he levels out about 300k - 400k that's solid... that's less than Ross, but Ross took consistent quality music to get to that point. I think the reality is dude is not as big as people on here would have you believe. If he can move 300k and get that show money, it's a win.

he disappointed me with the album though... kinda repetitive and one dimensional.

It's a shame because you're most likely put off by the hype surrounding... with caused you to turn the other cheek/become disinterested.

But i listen to everything but few albums actually grab my attention to where i "RE"play it often.

GKMC has extremely awesome replay value and i seldom can say that with many acts/albums in the past decade (the last joint I bumped so much off the bat was Ye's MBDTF - but i had to incorporate the Good Friday tracks to make it outstanding - Good Kid is monumental on its own).

Trust me on this one.

If you don't like Ken's lp, i'll take you out for apple bees. Bottomless nachos and wings (during happyhour) on moi.

Junna say kwa.

It will be gold by this time next year. Wale did the same numbers and he hit Gold in July. I wonder how hurricane Sandy effected Meeks sales.

Good for Meek.

Surprised at the drop-off for GKMC. After so much critical acclaim you'd think it'd help carry him to another high-selling week :manny: once the hype dies down I think more people will give it a chance without having expectations of an Illmatic part 2
