Both. Even after Flamerz Meek didn't really get known outside of the tri state until "Rose Red" And that wasn't until Flamerz 3.
I just ask that because I really think anyone with an "industry" ear could tell Meek separated himself from the pack with the Flamerz series...every release got progressively better, and by Flamerz 3 it was evident if any one of those dudes were gonna pop, it'd be him.
I'll add Philly rappers have always been so intensely local with their bars and delivery... some of the rawest, nicest spittas of ANY city, but waaaaaaay to local sounding. Meek was the only one who had a shred ... an iota of non-local sounding potential. Just local sounding enough, but nonlocal enough to be accessible.
And Petey and Young Chris,too... but that's another story.
