Better than rapping about hoes, drugs, or sex.
full

lowkey, shyttting on the dance era in hip hop contributes to more destructive nonsense

This kind of logic is :what:as hell. Rap been around damn near 40 years, people need to stop acting like there's literally nothing to rap about besides some goofy ass dance, or being a gangster.

Then on top of that this kid is damn near 18....I'm not saying he has to be some kind of lyrical savant at 18 but a 10 year old could've made this song.

:ohhh:

That actually does put some perspective to it.

Nas, mobb deep, and joey badass were the same age as him when they started releasing music

A lot of people were around the same age. Ice Cube was like 18 when he wrote "Boyz N The Hood". Special Ed was 16 when he wrote "I Got It Made".

I got nothing against young people but people need to stop lowering the fukking bar for them. They're young, not retarded.

A 10 yr old could have made lyrics like "hip hop the hippity, to the hip hip hop you dont stop" too.

The majority of rap since the beginning has been about being flyer than the next guy, getting money, drugs, partying, or sex. This is the lesser of two evils in this era of rap. Rap fans are the ones who cant accept there be different topics in rap. This shyt isnt even for older rap fans, so there's no need to be upset

That song came out 30 years ago. The fact that you're using one of the earliest rap songs to rationalize why lyrics suck in 2015 is :heh:

Rap fans can't accept different topics in rap but the two biggest stars are currently Drake and Kendrick Lamar, whose albums sound nothing alike. Ok.

And there is no "lesser of two evils". There is no two anything. If Snoop and Tribe co-existed 20 years ago, why are we sitting here talking about "if it's not dance rap it'd probably be some gangster shyt"? The fact that we can look at a new rapper....and say "well, at least he ain't talking about killing people"....the bar is seriously that low?

Haven't kids always liked repetitive, stupid songs? From Kriss Kross to Lil Bow Wow to Soulja Boy to this one, I don't think much has changed.

Explain why Sugar Hill Gang is hip hop but Crank Dat or this isnt? Prodigy said the same shyt.

And yes, the bar is that low. Every song on the radio is about drugs, sex, murder, or fukking someone else's girl. A clean dance song for teens aint the end of the world.

And Tribe was never close to being as popular as Snoop. They barely went platinum
