Yup. You alrdy know she’s trippinShe called out J Prince![]()

Wasn't the 10k the loan/advance breh? What are they doing for her on their end?Hakim from Channel Live said it best- the money you get from a label is a loan to complete a project...its not money to go buy cars and floss to ya bytches or ya mans....promotion, warddrobe, dinners, flights, phone usage- all that is coming out of that 40%- the money you gonna make is whatever you get per song/stream/project sold and show/ tour money (unless you have sneaker or clothing deals and if you sign a 360- ya label is getting a piece of that action to)
Both Toni Braxton and TLC did it

Usually the label will front the money with the expectations that you'll pay them back.
Her label takes majority of her income and makes her fit the bill for her career, out of pocket, not on loan.
If they really spent all that money on her and this is all cap, then I'm wrong. They're making he "fit the bill" because they've already spent millions on her to get where she is. You'd be hard pressed to think she has recouped on those millions, especially with all the money they had to spend to get those singles to pop. They even shot a big-budget Hype Williams video for "Cash Sh-t" that still hasn't been released. You can see the money they've spent.
Female artists are money pits. You have to spend millions and the the hassle isn't worth it most of the time.

Wasn't the 10k the loan/advance breh? What are they doing for her on their end?
If they really spent all that money on her and this is all cap, then I'm wrong.
She claims she only got 10k, if she's lying then I'll take the L and she deserves whatever gets.

You know that's a standard contract right? That's exactly why it pays to have leverage and negotiate.
I'm saying the standard recording contract is always gonna be grossly in favor of the label. That's just how it goes in any business negotiation.
Think about it. The label is the one who is fronting the cost of wardrobe, videos, studio time, features, etc. The label has to be compensated out of the artist's cut. How else will they get a return on their investment?
That's why it pays to come into a negotiation where you have leverage where you agree to pay for alot of that out of your pocket. That's so you don't owe the label as much. The more you do for yourself, the more of the pie you can get.
1501 invested 8 figures into her to make her pop. She signed the contract and apparently didn't put up much of her own bread, especially in relation to what 1501 spent. Her bigger issue is that she allowed her 1501 projects to be labeled as "mixtapes" instead of an "album." They didn't count towards her 4 album deal.
Sadly, the only people she can really blame is her and her mom for not knowing how the business works.
As a person who doesn't feel sorry for Meg; ya'll have to cut it with this "standard contract" shyt.
Forget the 10K for a second and listen to what you're saying.
Off top they taking 60% of the profit and that 40% still goes to promotion and shyt.
The label decides how much every thing costs.
Remember Puff charging his artists to get him in videos he put himself in? I'm not saying builting Meg ain't expensive.
Yes, they should get the lionshare of the bread, but, there should be some sort of performance based shyt in their for the artist.
Again, she stupid for signing that, but, this is standard fukkery. Especially that "mixtape" shyt. Nothing okay about this shyt. This is exploitation.
Rape’n U Records 2020he was taking 60% told her she could have the remaining 40 but out of that 40 she had to pay for the engineers, features etc.

why would roc nation management pony up and money for her. They work for herwhen your ribs are touching and someone's waving a dream in your face, you'll sign anything. It's how life works. Artists 100x bigger than Megan wind up in label bullshyt.
Meg became bigger than anything that deal coulda outlined and now she wants to redo things. Life don't work that way. Gotta put it in writing.
Now we'll see how much Roc Nation truly values her. If they pony up for her and she doesn't become Cardi B on a sales level, only way she gonna tour is on the feature dancing circuit
Cause she was broke and a nobody when she signed it. What out that labels money she just another rapper on IGDid she really need a major label? This is a rinse repeat situation every time. Stay indie, sometimes the “look” isn’t always worthy if these record labels gonna keep your career from going forward.
