For reference:

The problem is that o-line coaching is questionable in many franchises. There are a lot of ways to deal with two high safeties and it starts with protecting the QB and running the ball effectively, both of which require good o-line play.

Ain’t Nobody ā€œteachingā€ in the pros. Who has time for that week in week out? Offensive lineman are no longer maulers coming out of these college spread offenses so what you are seeing is reflection of that.

Bill Simmons and them were also talking about how making field goals seems a lot easier today. Like 40-50 yds is like child’s play, so therefore perhaps they should like make the goalposts tighter :jbhmm:

Games been so wack two weeks in that people tryna change the rules like in the NBA now :whoo:

But yea, defense brehs been developing at a higher pace than offense brehs. Can’t blame anyone for that. In the nba we have the opposite and everyone is complaining about that too

I never really bought into that this 1 particular defense was this sound.

but last 2 years has shown me that it has all but took away the high 200's and 300's yards passing game. Im def a believer

It’s cycles imo. Safety rules opened up offenses over years, defense has adjusted with schemes and personnel, and the lack of run threat. Now offense has its turn to adjust

I give my squad (Lions) a lot of credit for one of the few places that is still teaching. Drafting projects, not expecting them to contribute and just developing them. That's the best model. It's what Philly did with Jordan Mailata, and they have a great o-line coach like we do.

NFL already moved back extra points years ago because kickers were kicking like 99.5 percent, so there is precedent for things like this.

But wouldn’t it just make people miss more shots. Or make the best placekickers more valuable. But not impact the actual play
