This has disaster written all over it...

Dwight is a soft diva with serious back problems on the tail end of his career and you never know when a sneeze will bench Rose for 3 months...

Melo leads but not in a vocal way like screaming on the court.

But you need someone to be that guy on every great team.
The leadership concern is a fair point, whether Howard is there or not.

Yeah I know Melo can lead, but idk if he is a leader in the sense of managing different personalities to this degree. I feel like none of those dudes would have much in common. Melo would have to wear a ton of masks or just be like I'm the man fall in line. Rose is used to being the man. Howard used to be the man and is looking to reclaim former glory. Porzingis is on the comeup and is expected to eventually be the man. And Melo is the man by default that has to make it all work. I'm just not sure of their dynamic. They'd be a bunch of misfits, but I guess it could work if they played team ball and tasted success. Adversity seems like a different matter entirely.

Dwight Howard has interest in signing with the New York Knicks.

The Knicks are expected to have at least $30 million in cap space this summer.

Last offseason, the Knicks signed Robin Lopez to a four-year contract and he had a productive season.

The Knicks' top priorities this offseason have been their backcourt and it is unclear what level of interest they would have in signing Howard.
