How you gonna ROFL with a hollow back?
No Melo isn't a leader he isnt a vocal leader . So what though. Who gives a fukk if your a vocal leader if your avg 27 and 7 and your team wins 54 games?

this is what chauncey said about Melo a few weeks ago

“He’s not that guy,” Chauncey Billups said on “The Knicks Blog with Anthony Donahue” radio show, when asked if Anthony could be a “loud and outspoken” leader.

“Melo’s a good friend of mine, one of the best players I ever played with, but he’s not the guy who’s going to stand up in the locker room and give this rah-rah speech and get the team to rally. That’s not who he is.”

Billups, who played with Anthony in Denver and was included in the trade that brought Anthony to the Knicks, was asked if Anthony could develop into that kind of leader at this stage of his career.

“That’s tough to ask for,” said Billups, now an analyst for ESPN. “I’ll just say this, you’ve got all that cap room, you better go find someone [to be a vocal leader]. Melo, that’s not who he is and we are who we are. That’s like asking me to be this guy with a 40-inch vertical and go in there and be dunking on everybody like I’m Russell Westbrook. You can’t ask an apple to be an orange, that’s just not fair.”

Billups went on to detail Anthony’s unique leadership qualities.

“[Carmelo] will lead by example,” Billups said. “He’s going to come to work and he’s playing for the win every night. There’s no question about that, that’s who he is. He’s a great player, he wants to win. He’s going to come to work. He’s going to lead by example, he’s not going to be vocal.”

His knees were fine his first season in NY, he looked like a superstar until the Knicks traded for Melo and he came in being the black hole that he was.

We just gonna ignore how they played together after Melo was traded to the Knicks?
once amare hurt his back against the celtics before game 2 the first year they were together, he was never the same player again. he was dunking on players, doing 360 layups and blocking shots in game 1. once that injury hit, that player went poof. combine that with his knee issues, gaining a bunch of weight and being useless, then losing it again. it really isnt fair to place blame upon melo for how they played as a tandem. those 2 on the pick n roll was something to see, just wish we got to see it with the both of them healthy.

LeBron would still be in the conference..... add Kyrie, word? We've all seen how Melo looks with other star players, ask Amare how that worked out :russ:
You mean the corpse of amare? :stopitslime:

You not a knicks fans breh you over here throwing stats left and right but you don't see what's going on in these games with melo carrying this team around.

Melo with a competent pg would go to the ecf. Oh yall seem to forget he played most of his career in the top heavy west when San antonio, Phoenix and LA had stacked teams.

:what: Amare was still getting his numbers after Melo was traded that first year, I don't know where this bullshyt narrative came from that Melo was somehow halting his production
Amare never being on the court cause of his flabby and sick knees was what halted his production.
