It actually is. If you are comparing two players, how is their impact not relevant? What do the Nuggets and Knicks have to show for having Melo as a number 1 option for the last 13 years? 3 playoff series wins. And contrary to popular narrative and plea, these teams have had talent. Kawhi has proven he can play different roles, beast on both ends, and most importantly play well and fit with other talent. People don't realize, that is actually more difficult than just being the man on a shytty team and getting all the shots.

If we're talking immediately right now it'd be insane for me to pick Melo over Kahwi. I'm not doubting the kid's versatility. I just want to see how he performs as the dude before I say career wise that he's better than Melo.

It is in comparison to a guy playing with 4 hofrs and sharpshooters in a great system

4 hofs? :dead: @ lamarcus being HOF at this point of his career

and the other 3 are WAY PAST their prime looking to retire any minute now :dead:

melo has had some stacked teams in denver... failed to deliver
some good teams in NY... failed to deliver

im sure that 41% career playoffs FG (:scust:) has nothing to do with that huh :sas2:

you will never win a championship if melo is the 1st option on your team no matter what team... period

Now who else wanna fukk with Hollywood Court?
This dude @Playa With Tha Passport thinks Melo is better than prime Kobe, so that's all you really need to know about his opinions.

People talking about the Spurs winning a title with Melo :mjlol: right, like he understands the concept of moving the ball, look at Aldridge right now and how Pop has used him and how his numbers dropped.

You didn't answer my question. What good has having Melo as the dude done for two different franchises over 13 years? Now don't get me wrong...I recognize this is a team game and a lot of things outside of individual players control come into play...no doubt. However, Melo being traded to NY (and thusly gutting their supporting cast and costing them draft picks including this years) and being unable to fit with STAT and the Nuggets having a better second half after the trade (they still have a better overall record since the trade :dead:) can't be attributed to other folks or a lack of talent. People stay saying "bu...bu...but if Melo had that SA team around him" and my question, that hasn't been answered is when has he shown he can fit into such a program and play a role like Kawhi's?

the ether
The west was stacked those years fam. His 50 win team was a 8th seed.

And you know how stacked that team was?

Allen Iverson averaging 26-3-7-2
Carmelo averaging 26-7-3-1
Kenyon Martin averaging 12-7-1-1-1
Camby averaging 9-13-3-1-4
Anthony Carter averaging 8-3-6-2

Big men giving you 20 points, 20 boards, and 5 blocks a game while your guards are combining for 35 points, 13 assists, and 4 steals and YOU'RE the star at the swing man position on top of all that.

Then they had Kleiza, Najera, and JR coming off the bench.

So if Carmelo is really a generational player, then why are CP3's Hornets, Dirk's Mavs, Nash's Suns, Yao's Rockets, and that Deron/Boozer Jazz team...not to mention the Lakers and Spurs....ALL finishing ahead of him in the regular season?

And that was the 50-win season. Previous year, they rolled out Iverson, Melo, Camby, Nene, and Steve Blake. Kleiza, JR, Najera, and Carter off the bench. That team wins 45 games and gets washed by the Spurs in 5.

Sorry, but when you're rolling out that lineup, you need to finish ahead of a Utah team whose three best players were Boozer, Deron Williams, and Mehmut Okur. Or a Houston lineup where Rafer Alston and Luther Head were the 3nd and 4th leading scorers.

see folks, this is how you gun for WPOY.

you purposely start a thread with a ridiculous premise and then over the course of dozens of posts, without resorting to using any kind of reason or logic, you passionately defend your position tooth and nail against the onslaught of facts and thoughtful analysis you've brought upon yourself. you must not yield a single point. you must not waver from any poster. your dedication to argue and commitment to stupidity must be absolute.

take notes y'all, cuz @Playa With Tha Passport is showing you how it's done.
