The Truth
Yall keep saying this. But who has made super teams since then?
Lebron :dahell:

GS had they're players develop, Spurs had their players develop, Bulls got Gasol but Rose is :flabbynsick: and Butler developed...

And the Timberwolves will develop into one and so will the Jazz and Bucks

Lebron is the only player I know who leaves successful teams to try and create another superteam with prime all star players and talks of playing with his "friends".

Like I said, it's a Lebron mentality

He wanna stay relevant :manny:
Now you're arguing a different point...

First Melo stayed because of the money...

Then when Melo states that he wants to try to finish what he started in NY... he just wants to stay in NY...

Now...he wants to stay in NY, a team on with a future but not making the playoffs...because he wants to stay relevant?

Breh...just admit you hate the dude.

My point originally was you just like Melo you need someone to help carry you "take the load off in dying light..." :sas2:

Sign onto a badly managed lottery team in your home state with a rookie coach and get them to trade for an overrated forward from another shyt team, and you've now "created a superteam".

A "superteam" starting Delly, Smith, TT, and Mosgov in the NBA Finals....and that was AFTER all the midseason trades! :deadmanny:

On the other hand, join one of the top teams in the West with the reigning MVP to have 3 HOFers and FIVE guys who would pull MVP votes in the next two years (Magic, Kareem, Cooper, Wilkes, Nixon), then pull another HOF with the #2 pick in the draft a couple years after that, and it's not a super-team, you're just "building through the draft". Ignore that Kareem forced a trade to the Lakers, Magic's pick came in a trade and he left college early only because the Lakers won the coin toss and not Chicago, Wilkes came in a trade for crap, and Worthy came in a WOAT trade. Just keep pretending that they "built through the draft".

Or ignore that Bird got drafted onto a team so good he could play with four HOFers in his first 2 years, with two of them coming in a complete bullshyt trade....and yet a fifth guy would win the Finals MVP for them. That's a real "super team".

Ignore that Shaq signed as a free agent with the Lakers and Kobe was pulled there by a trade too (giving them a four all-star team), not to mention most of the meaningful players on the team were pulled as free agents or trades, and getting the 6-time champ to coach it might have been the biggest move of all.

Even Jordan's Bulls, beyond the core of Jordan/Pippen/Grant/Armstrong getting drafted, started pulling in talent from all over the place - Cartwright, Paxson, Kukoc, Rodman, Harper, Longley, Kerr - all those guys were 24 or older and had been playing professional ball for years before they got added on to form Phil's team.

The Spurs are a long story of brilliant development and scouting along with some really lucky draft picks and placements. The Warriors are a crazy phenomenon. But every other dynasty in our lifetimes was cobbled together one way or the other

Nobodies gonna read your biblical long written excuse of a nikka that spent his entire career feeding off the lack of talent in the east while creating superteams

This thread is dumb as hell

Players back in the day wouldnt have had any problem welcoming other great players on their team if it meant they had a greater chance at winning a championship.

The difference is that today there is free agency, so much money in the game, and because of things like social media and the attention players get, you are bound to hear more stuff like what melo is saying. players were not as accessible back in the day and people didnt care about their every thought like some of you and the media do today

The 215
Most championship teams became HOF level by working hard like the Warriors. Not joining together with other superstar players like the Heat. There's a clear difference.
