Why do people get mad when Meltzer says "maybe" or "plans change"?

You know he's getting details from people in a company where a 70 year old man micromanages and changes scripts and booking at the last minute all the time

I've never understood why Dave gets hate for that. Of course he can report something is planned and then at the last minute Vince will change it.
