She's not wrong that IG doesn't give a fukk about mental health but...they're making money, brehette. It's 2019 and people still act like Facebook didn't buy IG. Money is being made, via advertising. If anything they're going to keep going harder on that front. So much free advertising goes on when it comes to IG. Not long ago you could see plenty of NBA ads that were not sponsored. This year you saw them switch it so the NBA has to say "this is brought to you by State Farm" for instance.

I could see more advanced IG options being hidden behind a paywall though, sure.
Or the premium version will only be available to those who generate enough likes and views (traffic and ad revenue) to see it.

Instagram's revenue is growing every year. As far as profitability goes, Facebook as a company had net profit of 6 billion last quarter. Their revenue last quarter was almost 18 billion. The narrative that Facebook and Instagram don't make money is not rooted in fact.
They’ve only recently(in the last 5 years) started to make a profit. Almost every social media company had profitability problems for years.

Twitter for instance has only recently had their first 5 quarters of profits after losing money for every year before.

But on topic, nobody owes you a free marketing platform. People are entitled as fukk. Im pretty damn sure IG costs alot of damn money to run and maintain.

Facebook was profitable BEFORE they went public. Show me another tech company that has gone public after becoming profitable since then.

Oh yeah well if she's so smart why isn't she married? :ld:

Yeah exactly

Furthermore if she knows business moves like that why the GoFundMe after her car accident. Soon as I hear "FB and IG make no money" had to stop listening.

Yeah but don’t pretend that everybody wasn’t shytting on FB as a stock around the time of that IPO.

FB was the exception not the rule. Twitter only recently got their head above water and Snap is still bleeding money.

FB figuring out how to make money off ads is by far the biggest reason we still have social media.

They'd be smart to do it, our generation will spend money with the quickness if its through the guise of "exclusivity"

It's like buying something intangible, but people will buy it in droves
