This opinion makes me regret wasting so much time debating music with you breh . Your ear is just flawed totally if you can just write off this project as "wack".
I lost :deadmanny:

Ok. My ear is flawed because I dont like what you like.

I'm not even a troll and I think that there is some truth to the OP

I still play GKMC. I don't touch TPAB except for occasionally playing Alright in the gym. But I never proclaimed it a classic in the first place.

On the other hand, I respect the critical consensus and point blank its the most critically acclaimed Hip Hop album of the last 15 years. So if people wanna call it a classic I respect that and it just didn't click that way for me.

every week a TPAB thread is made. How are people supposed to forget this "forgettable" album if the haters keep it in their mind?

because something can be forgettable musically but memorable as a joke. Isn't this obvious :what:

Kendrick's going the way of K-Rino to some on The Coli.

TPAB will not hold up to scrutiny as the years pass. Neither will GKMC or any of Kendrick's material. Mark my words.

Album was trash just like his first. The narrative is to pretend you like Kendrick so you can be fake deep on social media so everyone just throws his name out there. Never seen anyone bump anything by this guy in public but "Dont Kill My Vibe."

You must be 15. TPAB has been embraced more than a lot of albums that were slow burner classics.

Songs from this album have been marched to in real protests.

If there was a TPAB tour it would sell out in every city in the world.

Why wasn't there one. you mean to tell me an artist goes platinum in hiphop and doesnt tour the project?:jbhmm: Seems spooky

Why does this hold weight with people? Who cares what the "critics" think about the album and y'all pretend like those folks weren't paid by interscope to review that album

I looked at that metacritic nonsense one time because the coli kept repeating this and TPAB has like twice the reviews of albums like FHD, Pink Friday and IYRITL.

Why would more "publications and critics" Give their opinion on Kendrick not other popular artist in the genre?

I felt that way initially but after letting it breathe for a fee months the album is phenomenal. Im real proud that the top rapper in the game isn't promoting negativity and genocide to our youth and is being rewarded for it. This album proved that you can be critically acclaimed without selling out. The only issue I have is that I think white liberals dig the album more than these se called savages that need to hear it.

the fact that hip hop is groomed as a young man's sport with lifelong (+20, 30, 40, even 50 year old ) listeners amongst a demographic programmed to have short attention spans that skews "acting your age" means you can't judge the term "classic" by the same criteria as we did the groundbreaking albums of the 80s and 90s.

That's a hell of a run on sentence.

And yes, it's all by design. But this thread isn't about that.

The critical acclaim and award nods PLUS the acclaim given by listeners during the first few months deem it a classic regardless of the short attention span of today's climate.

Someone who didn't like it making thread and saying it wasn't doesn't mean it isn't.

Me personally, I thought it was a step back from his previous.

But hell, I don't think The Chronic is a good album and rank Dogg Food over it. IWW>IllMatic. That doesn't mean the shyt isn't classic.

It Is What It Is.

Edit: oh, you mean this was a troll thread? My bad, homie. :troll:
