I was in Memphis last year and it was pretty dope. Beale street was live, and I just walked around the block and copped some grizz tickets on the spot.

shyt can get kinda wild on beale street on warm saturday nights, i don't recommend it unless you're a local or comfortable around ratchet shyt. one sec you'll be posted up on the street sipping a drink from wet willies, the next you'll be hearing gunshots and trying to find cover. if you go on beale my advice is to GO INSIDE AN ESTABLISHMENT because shyt happens on the street
people might tell you to hit up 152 but i always found it wack. there's a third floor which is practically a different club (shadows) that i fukk with. absinthe room is a dope bar especially if you've got a shorty with you. alfred's is okay for karaoke. you might get lucky and get to hear some authentic blues around handy park off beale
bbq - you're gonna have to venture into the hood for the best shyt like a&r or big bill's. if you want to keep it tourist friendly try bbq shop on madison. if you're a foodie you can check out rendezvous's bbq
gus's friend chicken is legit but be prepared to wait in line
i hardly mess with malls now but oak court is to be avoided. southland is a cool lil black mall in the haven. wolfchase is okay but stuff happens there from time to time. there's also carriage crossing (outdoor mall) in collierville but chances are you won't want to drive out to collierville to shop
most of the people i run with are in their early to mid 30s, there's a bar off highland we frequent called ubees. target demo is university of memphis students but the food/drinks are solid, a lot more than the college crowd comes through there. broad avenue has some low key cool bars/restaurants but it's in binghampton so keep your eyes open if you're there at night
definitely go by the national civil rights museum. there's also the underground railroad museum. graceland might be cool if you're a cac, i've visited and worked there but never found it that interesting, most black memphians don't fukk with it
