false, fan attendance has always been up and down. Fans arent feeling this wave of ownership/front office and how they've packaged the team. Nashville is way more feasible. And it fixes the NBAs problem with expansion. Currently the NBA has 30 teams (15 and 15). If the Grizz went to Nashville, became an Eastern Conference team...the NBA could expand into Vegas AND Seattle in the same year and even the number to 32 NBA teams.

And it makes more sense.

Nashville is closer to Atlanta, Charlotte and Indianapolis than Memphis is to OKC, New Orleans, and Dallas. Instant rivalry between Atlanta and Nashville. And a Nashville team would get all the Kentucky Basketball fans.

It'd be risky as the NBA hasn't had two teams expand in 1 conference since 88. But the NBA has to expand by two teams in one year anyway, might as well be in one conference.

4 words: Tax Dollars. Box Seats.

Thats all the NBA and NFL care about. With a rich tax base, much of the costs of an arena can be subsidized as long as you're not a selfish c*nt like Sarver. And you gotta relocate somewhere with lucrative businesses so you can sell box seats to corporate sponsors. Nashville has a huge health care industry and booming tech industry. AT&T has a huge corporate presence there. And they've proven they can support 2 pro teams with the Titans and Preds.

Memphis is a shythole breh. My moms side of the family is from there. From an objective numbers side, it has negative population growth, not a lotta cacs with money (at least compared to Nashville), shytty infrastructure (meaning allocating tax dollars will be a harder sell in the future), and the only big corporate dogs in town are FedEX and the Hospitals. They have no business having an NBA team.


In fact the only reason they got the team in the first place is because Nashville wasn't gonna build two arenas (they wanted the NBA to share Bridgestone arena with the Preds, whereas Memphis built FedEX Forum just for the Grizz and Tigers).

The NBA at some point in the next 20 years is coming to Nashville regardless. With that said why go into an unsustainable situation of putting two teams in Tennessee when you can relocate one of them? Hell its an easier sell to Memphis Grizzlies fans as saying that the team is still in Tennessee, just not in Memphis anymore.
