If you do not admit the only way the grizz, had a chance of beating the spurs was by playing up from an emotional high.
Then, you really need to re-eval your ability to analyze NBA bball.

I'm done.

I'm never going to respond to another word you type.

Spot on analysis, however Mike Woodson doesn't belong anywhere within the same category as the other NBA coaches you've listed as"ego-busters"

Josh smith, would like a word with you.

Grizz should have been on the dust moving around in this thread :leon:

Snorting, sniffin and being inebriated was not going to provide the superstar player needed to beat this spurs team.
You can not be high and beat no popovich staffed squad with:

Duncan
Leonard
Parker
Ginob

Especially when,... The backcourt the grizz employ was to small or not authoritative enough at the sg and sf position on offense.

It just sounds preposterous on paper to think that zbo and gasol can provide the punch needed down low against a platoon of culture guys under Duncan and pop.
If the grizz's game plan was to try to power post play against a higher pedigree and experienced Duncan.
Combined wit pedigree, youth and culture down-low who has the foreign pedigree similar to gasol.
When paired with Duncan on zbo is more than adequate enough to dispel the grizz.
As zbo and gasol's combined bball IQ, experience.
Still, does not equal Duncan's.
Plus, the fact Duncan and his frontcourt minions of culture based euro's and domestic players has pop on the coaching end to refer to as well.

:rudy: was :trash: this season, and hasn't been that good since he injured his shoulder. And why dudes bringing up Mayo? I don't get people's fascination with Mayo. Bayless>Mayo as a 6th man on the Grizz. Do people forget how :trash: Mayo was for the Grizz last season in the playoffs? Mayo is supposed to be some really good shooter when he is not. Grizz are better off without both of them, losing Speights & Ellington was worse than losing Mayo and Rudy. All the Grizz need are some 3-point shooter, than they will be fine in the offseason.

Now that makes sense. Duncan was hurt when Memphis beat the Spurs last time. He's at the best he's been in awhile and it's showing how inferior Gasol and Randolph are to him. Combine that with Pop outcoaching Hollins in crunch time and it's looking like the Spurs are headed towards #5 .

With that said Gay and Mayo weren't the answer. At some point they refused to adapt to a role and both tried to play hero black hole ball so much that it made Gasol and Conley fall to the background. The great thing about this current Grizz team is everyone knows their role and they play it well. Rudy got buckets but it never really helped them anywhere else.

What you said about Paul George is true. They need him. But Rudy aint PG. So they're stuck right now. And the only suitable free agents out there are guys like Iggy and Pierce.

i brought up mayo because he is integral to the convo.
Also,...even jalen rose mentioned mayo.
So, you have an incredible past NBA talent and arguably the best telecaster on ESPN for bball mentioning him.
On top of me, your champion mentioning him.
So, kill the bullshyt about why was mayo mentioned.

I am high on both bayless and mayo.
i was the original guy in this community giving them props since he and college to becoming a pro.

Mayo had a better year than bayless.
that is a fact,....

Mayo returned back to form statistically.
immediately, after being given a fresh start and much higher actualized bball IQ based pedigree coaching.
Mayo was killed from Hollins hating.
The same hollins who has a track record of hating, on ball players.
Mayo goes from being catered to, and coached reasonably well as the best player in hs and a college hopeful.
To a hating ass coach, as a pro.
That would cause an issue for any young guy, period.
Especially, when mayo produced immediately, as a pro.

Next,...have your ever endured an injury to your Back?
Bird to tmac were hobbled and had immediately affected and shortened careers.
Have you ever injured your shoulder?
You could have never injured your shoulder before.
If you did,...
There is no way you can make it like rudy was not suffering early on.
D wade had the same up and down play.
When captain jerk fukked his shoulder up.
Which took him two legit years to rebound from.
Also,....rudy was productive in Toronto like usual.
Plus, had a string of games of note that registered past local news.
Also,...
If you think it is dope to jettison superstar talent.
Then think they can put up, a concerted effort to beat a championship pedigree team with the highest pedigree'd big and coach.
With arguably the best healthy pg, and two solid wings in Leonard/green and a possible hof euro in ginobs.

Next the grizz,..
Need more than a three point specialist.
They need two dribble dribble superstar minded wings, period!
That plug in moneyball by committee bullshyt will not aid you in the NBA.

The only difference between pg and Rudy is.
Health, and the fact George got to work his way up behind a former all star SF in granger before injury.
Which forced pg to focus on other aspects of his pro game to acquire tick.
On top of bird being influential with working up players at his former SF position.
Similar to how he aided jalen rose.
To the point even though bird is no longer there.
He still texts and has a presence with this team.
To the point,...
Lance, who was in personality purgatory with bird, for certain incidents.
Still, gets encouragement from bird and cites those words as fuel.
Rudy never had to learn behind an all star.
Nor, received text for guidance from a coach/player/ex of bird's statire.
Don't let recent occurrences cloud the entire storybook.
When comparing pg and Rudy.

So you're crediting PG's whole development and Rudy Gay's failures to late night text with Larry Bird?

If that was the case Shawne Williams would be balling out right now too.

No, one took his attributes and put it together to form an all around game while the other just wants to score.

There's high level coaches all over the league that have probably told Rudy what he needs to do. You don't need a legend to figure out how to develop.

Sorry, but one players opinion doesn't trump the overwhelming amount of praise and respect Mike Woodson has from many of the other NBA players, particularly from some of the most "swagged out" & overly confident personalities in the league today.

The irony of posting a quote where, cuss'n each other out is viewed as a healthy component of being a good coach.
Why don't we look at the superstar pedigree players.
Who could have contributed more.
Including, the consistent second round exits Woodson provides at every stop as better proof.

Sorry, but bird is known as a talented scout of NBA talent.
Plus taking talent on the verge of being a bust and making them into an incredibly potent SF, ala jalen rose.
Bird, is also known as a disciplanarian.
Who put certain players in the dog house and halted their development purposefully, ala lance Stephenson.
Stephenson is on the floor now, more.
All because bird is not in the front office.
pumping having the perception of a character Driven team.
Where he throws top pedigree talent in the bushes for pr issues, like he did Stephenson.
So, yes,....
Bird will be credited for pg's development, as a quality superstar pedigree'd pro.
