I think black men need to be incredibly cautious about selecting a black woman therapist, and I'd stick my neck out and even say you'd be better off picking a white man over them. Intersectional feminism runs rampant in academia settings, and that results in a lot of women who do not view black men as anything more than benefactors of the patriarchy. You might as well not even be black in their eyes, because they will not extend the status of "marginalized person" to you. Solely because you're a man and therefore must have some level of male privilege, plus you are allegedly a violent threat to the actual marginalized black people: black women. Therefore they are incapable of having any sympathy for you - after all, why feel bad about a man if you're a marginalized woman right. When I heard her yelling about holding therapy patients accountable, this became the clear issue. Yea accountability can be an issue in therapy but...many people go to therapy because they've been abused mentally/physically/sexually. What do they need to be held accountable for, when they are the victim? You see what I'm getting at....she doesn't view men as victims.
It's straight up brain worms shyt. I say that as someone who has zero issue with feminism in general, but this particular strand is insane.
