I'm not understanding.... So you will run around at parties in your underwear and socks gigging to yourself but you won't sing "yeah yeah" when Alicia Keys ask the men to sing along? :what:
i never said i won't sing yea yea. i said i won't participate in activities that i deem goofy.

i probably wouldn't sing yea yea cuz i don't sing.

true indeed but i've never seen black folks participate to the extent that i see at some sporting events or concerts where mostly whites attend...i won't post videos :patrice: not a knock just an observation
Go to the theater or see a play on Broadway. Black people are the GOAT at participating when we're not supposed to.:francis:
I saw Cat on a Hot Tin Roof once with Phylicia Rashad, James Earl Jones, Terrence Howard, and Anika Noni Rose who was:noah:

The black folks in the theater were acting like it was studio audience taping of Martin. Same shyt when I saw the Color Purple.
They got to the Celie/Shug Avery loveish scene and the older black women behind us went ":scusthov: lesbians???" loud as fukk .

I damn near fell out.:heh:

My mother is generally good at behaving in the theater. But I took her and my sis to see The Gin Game on opening night. They got to this one well acted scene where James Earl Jones says something to Cicely Tyson about living too long.

My mother goes "Awwww:to: so sad" mad loud.:mjlol:

I like to think we participate on our own terms:jawalrus:

I think we just don't want to seem too enthusiastic and get clowned. i guess we're trying to be too cool. i don't know. i never thought of it deeply but i'm guilty of it as well.

sometimes it depends cause the people trying to get you hype are trying too hard. can't find the video now but the one with miley cyrus trying to get the crowd hype and failing. sometimes this is how people feel.

it's probably about self consciousness.

Say for instance, A singer at a concert ask for the ladies to sing this part and many of the ladies willing join in. Then when they ask for the men to join in its all mumbles.

Or at a club and the dj's like "where all the ladies at?" and the ladies are screaming but then when he ask the men its all crickets.

What the fukk is wrong with y'all? Can y'all get a grip for once and contribute to crowd festivities? :what:
Women, children and White frat boys can only keep the atmosphere hype for so long.

Who gives a fukk
