Depends on what you're lying about. Many of us lied to "hoes" about our previous experience to lose our virginity, because most women didn't want to f**k a virgin. Only way you could be honest about that s**t is if you wanted to lose it to a fat chick.
When I was in my more promiscuous phase I lied mainly about my social life (i.e. having friends), to the faster women I deal with. My thing was just not to come off as "lame", so a few lies were dropped here and there as to not kill the vibe. When it's all said and done, these are jumpoffs. I don't see the need to be 100% honest if they ask a question or guide the conversation a certain way where you have to lie to not weaken the attraction.

Yep, be honest. Basically have an "idgaf" attitude meaning that you're not afraid to say no. You're not afraid to speak your mind and disagree with her also. That's what he meant by 100% real.

I know that sounds cliche, but so many guys are afraid to simply be themselves around new women. They hide shyt and try to put on this fake "perfect guy" persona. That's a no no. That's why women flock to the bad boys. Bad boys don't give a fukk about revealing their faults. Their shortcomings.
Something I've learned personally over time is that these females themselves aren't "perfect" so why put on the facade that YOU are? They are insecure. They are broke and struggling. They've made mistakes. I actually play off these things. When I'm first getting to know a woman, I like to talk about REAL shyt (the struggles of life). Forget all the cute shyt, tell me about your struggles and ill tell you mine. Just keep it real with em.
What this does is makes them comfortable with you from a mental standpoint. You become somebody that they can relax and let their guard down around.
Now keep in mind I've mainly dealt with older women so idk how these younger women react

I read r/theredpill frequently and they'll tell you RARELY to reveal any weakness to a woman. And IF you must, it should be like a small tear shedding over your dog getting hit by a car or some shyt like that. What were these "issues"? Some issues don't come of as bad to women as other issues.
It would be nice if your second statement was true, but it doesn't work like that. A man has to portray himself a certain way to be attractive to any woman. You don't go into a job interview saying "well if they can't accept my flaws then it's not the company for me". No, you put your best foot forward and hype yourself up as if you're the greatest thing since sliced bread.
