I got halfway through this thread before I couldn't take it anymore.
The amount of people that are ok with absolving women from any responsibility from getting pregnant is sickening.
What most don't realize is that the current system is what makes things this way yet y'all argue to keep everything status quo. What is that gonna change?
I would bet my lifesavings that if once pregnancy was established the two consenting individuals had to have a sit down with a mediator of some sort and have this convo...
Convo A
Do both of you want this child? Both parties answer yes, they sign documents and are on there way.
Convo B. Same question. Woman says no, Man says yes. Mediator tells women she must carry child full term and then hand kid over to male relinquishing all responsibility to him. The male is not to expect any type of support from the female.
Convo C Same question. Woman says yes, Male says no. Mediator informs woman she can carry child full term but the male is relinquishing all rights at this time. She is not to expect any type of support from the male.
Convo D Same question, Both say no, abortion scheduled.
Now where is the fault in that? If anything it would cause people to be more responsible in all facets. It seems most want to turn this argument into a financial one when that isn't the point. The issue is choice, and the choice should be equal.

You have to provide child support or else you will go to jail. How is that legally opting out? I mean 0 responsibility no child support or otherwise.

If a woman uses your genetic material to impregnate herself against your wishes it doesn't make you a bytch from walking away from her and her child.
Women have 100% control over pregnancy be it birth control or abortion. A man can't get a woman pregnate unless she chooses to become that way. If she chooses to use his seed against his wishes to have a child then she should be 100% responsible and if she can't fulfill her responsibility jail her and take her child away.

to the bold. You went on and on in this thread about how certain birth control methods are not 100%. Once the sperm is in her vagina, she has no choice over whether they actually read the egg. Ya'll are silly as hell.
Both parties are at fault for the pregnancy if it wasn't planned. Everyone knows BC isn't 100% so both parties are at risk.
What happens next is where the problem lies. 1 party has total control the other does not. This needs to be balanced. And if it is balanced I think it would help eliminate the deadbeat factor of some parents.
Again this isn't a "how she got pregnant" or "who can afford the kid" argument in my eyes . This is an argument about their being equal choice amongst both parties. One that I illustrated in the convo scenarios I posted above.

You're suggesting that the decision to have sex is also the decision to reproduce when it clearly isn't.
I don't think you know how this human reproduction thing works.
If this is the case abortion and willingly giving your child up for adoption should be outlawed. Women should be forced to carry all pregnancies to term and provide for them and in the event she is unable to she should go to prison just like a man that can't provide for a child he may or may not have wanted.
Instead like the rest of society you'll continue to vilify men and give women a pass every step of the way because men are evil and women are good.
She can get an abortion or take a morning after pill. Men have two choices abstinence or surgery. At every step of the way a woman can enjoy sex and if an accidental pregnancy occurs she can get out of it.

Okay I can see the morning after pill argument because that can prevent conception or prevent implantation (which still means she didn't have a choice on whether the sperm met the egg); however, an abortions does not prevent her from becoming pregnant. Biologically a woman can not direct sperm to go any particular way once it is in her body.
