I agree.I was actually just thinking about this the other day.

The idea of making your dogs do "tricks," for food & snacks. Making them roll over, lay down, bark,etc. does not seem right to me.This one guy I'm some what sort of talking to got mad when I gave his dog a treat just because.He said I needed to make him do a "trick," first.

It's called obedience training. You give a dog treats just because and he will start expect treats all the time rather than for being obedient.
