We’re in here. I actually understand why this is true. My boyfriend just asked me what kind of ring I want and I just want something edgy and durable. Not really keen on traditional diamonds or the price. We’re looking at black diamonds or onyx. One thing we both agree on is that we don’t want to have any debt associated with the wedding or engagement.

Having just got married, it comes down to budget and what you want as couple. My wife really didn’t know much about rings and she has no idea what I paid. I paid what I was able to pay by cash after saving over time.

NGL the wedding put a hole in our pockets but it was what we wanted and with the people we wanted there. Sounds corny but those memories don’t have a price.

Bottom line, have sustained communication and discussion with your partner about both and make the decision that’s the best for you both.

Moissanite is almost as hard as diamond, actually shines brighter than diamond, and even tests as a diamond unless you use a more expensive tester that only jewelers use. It's lab made and costs a fraction of what diamonds cost. If you get a nice enough set no one would know.

I knew I had a good one when she schooled me on moissanite. I spent less than $500 on a set that would have easily cost $10K if it were diamond.
