I agree. Some couples get so caught up in the actual wedding that they forget about the marriage on top of that you could spend that money on a down payment for a house or even taking care of debts or buying a more reliable vehicle. Marriage has so many moving parts. That's why I love my wife because she's practical like me. We are not rich but we live well if that makes any sense. We modeled our relationship after my grandparents. They lived modestly but they were never in debt my grandfather's only vice was treating himself to his big body American cars over the years. My grandmother was a housekeeper and it was insane some of the things white people gave away.

Find jewelers on Etsy that make custom pieces. Much better than Jared or Kay Jewelers. Even if you spend a couple racks you can get something that would cost 10x more at a brand name jeweler.

Just make sure to check their product pics to verify you can't find the same ring on Temu or Alibaba.
