FB, many of you know that I retired from the NYPD after 21 years of good service. Last night I watched When They See Us (Central Park Five) On Netflixand I damn near had tears in my eyes. If you ever listened to anything I have ever said please listen to this......if you are a minority and you have a child under the age of 16 please, please, please advise them to NEVER EVER talk to the police without you being there or a lawyer. It is your absolute right to be in the presence of the police when they are questioning your child! Please drill in their head that when encountering the police the only thing that they should give them is name, address and DOB! The next thing is I want my parent, a lawyer or quiet, no matter what the police say to them! I know not every cop is bad but what I saw on that tv screen last night made my blood boil! I hope everyone of them responsible for putting those young boys in jail get to see the maker and he presses the express red button on them straight to Hell! Remember cops are trained professionals and take classes to learn tips for interrogations.......”you tell us and you can go home is BS” don’t ever buy it, because if I could go home let me go right now!!!! FB, protect your kids their life depends on it when dealing with the police and again all are not bad but you have a right and you should utilize your right when necessary! NO TALKING TO THE POLICE WITHOUT A PARENT OR LAWYER PRESENT, EVER!!!!!
