Turn Me Loose, We Shall Overcome
This is Hip Hop:
Dude really went to Morehouse and told Black men who made it that far that they can't blame white people for their problems. This is like when Obama was poppin shyt to those black students at their college graduation.
Go find the actual "street" dudes and complain to them.
This like wtf manBreh ain’t nobody on this site fukking 5-12 years old
If you don’t Take your ass to your local YMCA and spread the message there![]()
Ok
nikkas really need to learn that are are different subgenres of rap. There are many examples of rap being a great source of music to lift you up and empower you in a way.
Feel the exact same wayAs a person who considers myself as being partially made of Hip Hop..
I find it to be essential to life.
Now, WACK rap is poison and I ignore it. To the point where I have never heard of that PNB Rock dude until just now. Not saying he's wack.. cause I never heard his shyt.. but I assume everything made after a certain date is likely wack. So I just totally avoid new music.
Some stuff makes it through my filter and I eventually hear it if it's truly dope.
Anywayzzzz
Think of being a dope rapper like comedy. If something is actually funny, then it's gold. No matter the political implications or the rudeness.
A joke that's offensive but NOT ACTUALLY FUNNY is a crime. It hurts to listen to unfunny attempts at humor. ESPECIALLY if they are offensive.
Dope raps are dope no matter the subject. And usually dope raps are about more lofty subjects anyway. Dope raps are smart. And the best raps have something important to say.
Otherwise it's just junk food. Talking a bunch of mindless shyt without even making it clever.
Don't fukc with garbage rap. And for me that means trying to ignore most new music. But there's plenty of old music and definitely some modern gems.. here and there.
The youth will see through what he's saying due to the fact that most of the black youth listen to other genres than just Hip-Hop and R&B, they'll either tune him out or call him out on assuming they don't listen to different genres since there's no stigma surrounding it like it was for his time.Rap ain't bad. Murder music that is classified as "just entertainment", is bad though. It seems like that style is the most popular within the community affecting the minds of the youth, but people will defend it cause the beat nice.
Anyways go tell this message to the youth around where you are located or Tiktok. Telling TheColi this won't do any good.
What's even crazier is that BLACK PEOPLES perceptions of other black people are formed through rap music also@MasterThought I feel you. Aside from Obama, rap and sports are the main ways many non Black people form their perceptions of Black men. I also got daughters. Girls are more easily seduced by pop culture. I'll try to keep them off that shyt.
