I don't bother with messenger bags anymore. I used to. But not anymore. I had two different messenger bags at different times in the past. Now, I use backpacks, exclusively.
Why? Dual straps evens the weight on both shoulders. Probably sounds stupid but I pack a lot of weight in the form of laptop, plus charger, plus other office stuff and my lunch.
