Busquests is a generational DM. Even at 35 can still boss of the best matches at the elite level. He's going to be playing with his feet up. Messi's season will only depend on his mood. If he decides he's going for 50 goals then that's what he'll get.
Signing Jordi Alba feels like overkill at this point.

I said Messi was still top 3 in the world and some scoffed at the idea. The football landscape in 2023 is facing a bit of a lull in terms or world class attacking players at the top, most likely caused by the COVID pandemic and the world stopping. This isn't 2015 when there were so many studs playing.
Other than Haaland and Mbappe, who is seeing Messi on the pitch? Even those 2 guys are straight up and down goalscorers, Mbappe offers a bit more, but neither comes close to possessing the all round game Messi has. As rightly mentioned, it wasn't too long ago Messi was dominating teams at a World Cup. PSG just didn't work for him for several reasons.
At Miami, he has a team all too himself. The only thing that could stop him from going crazy is the quality of his teammates, that's it.

I mean... I can't agree witb that. I watched nearly every PSG game. I know Messi didn't really fit at first but when he got more comfortable he was great. Even still, Mbappe was just on a level on to himself. Same at the World Cup. Mbappe dominated like nobody else.

Messi was also not very good with Argentina for the 1st half of his career , until he got comfortable with it.
Also, I disagree Mbappe was on "another level" to Messi in the World Cup. Not sure what World Cup you were watching. Either way, my initial post was Messi is still top 3 not that he's number 1.
You guys need to stop overrating Mbappe by the way. How many Ballon D'ors does he have? He's like 24 now. Messi at 24 was already arguably the GOAT.
Messi at 21 was clearly better than Mbappe is now.

I was watching the World Cup where Mbappe had 8 goals and 2 assists (including a hat trick in the final) in 93 less minutes played than Messi. I'm a fan of both so we don't really need to do this Lol.
Mbappe also dominated in the World Cup previously. He already had a chip.

Messi had as good or better stats 7 goals and 3 assists, with more key passes than anyone of note, fouled more than anyone and most importantly, he won.
It kind of negates your "head and shoulders" comments about Mbappe in the World Cup.

Who cares what he did it in? Mbappe was playing on the most stacked team in the entire tournament while Messi almost single-handedly won games for his own team.
Messi scored in every single game of the knockout phase unlike Mbappe who ghosted against England and tiny Morocco. He wouldn't even have been relevant in the finals if the Argentinian defenders didn't choke and get nervous. He was nowhere to be seen for large parts of that game.
Whoscored and virtually every statistical site out there rated Messi as the WC best player and officially he was as he won the Golden ball as well.
