There was a nikka who called himself Leon Lendley who used to record himself doing prank calls back in 92/93. It was like the tapes we used to dub and pass around, my homeboy in ft worth had a dub on cassette.
Dude was in the N. Texas area somewhere. Some of the funniest shyt I ever heard. All real too. I always wondered if Big Boy out in California had heard those tapes which is why he named himself Luther Lufay in his prank segments. Lotta radio stations have those prank segments and I even saw a white dude doing the shyt for money and selling his tapes on tv with one of those 1-800 numbers in the late 90s.
Leon Lendley was the pioneer though, and paid the pioneer’s price. He became legendary, so much so that I heard he did a couple years in prison for it.
