30 years ago my favorite video game series was born. Even with it's ups and downs Metal Gear (Solid) is a series that has stood the test of time and continually raised the bar for the genre with each release.

Hitman and Splinter Cell are better stealth games however.

Ehh it's an average series is what I think of Splinter Cell when thinking about MGS overall. Incredible.

Whole presentation/ambiance of the game had me

this is why i still have MGS1 at the top of list.

yes the later games had more complex and developed gameplay, and prettier graphics... but none them equaled the EXPERIENCE of MGS1.
