Meth one of the greatest MC's ever. I'd say Top 30. He ain't better than Jay tho. He had the potential to be. But no.

Honestly... Jay's biggest thing is longevity, method man pretty much was known for bodying everybody during the times when skills mattered, jigga was known for being the best mix of flossing, hits and skills during the 98-2003 era. Personally I like jigga but dont rate him that high, he is about of method mans level in my mind, with an edge do to longevity.
Ghost is better than Jay, breh. And lyrically GZA is head and shoulders above Jay.

was never a huge fan of either one. They are both 100% useless today but Meth probably wins the 90s. and Ghost is easily better than both.
At his best Meth is better, he hit a low that Jay never really hit (not even on Kingdom Come) where he got lazy with it but early Meth and current Meth > Jay-Z.

Meth is like the equivalent of an athlete who had the potential to be one of the all time greats but never maximized his potential. Someone like Vince Carter. He's had a good career but not hall of fame caliber
Meth never had a solo album that I consider great, some great songs but I've always been dissapointed with his projects
But in 2013 I would rather hear a Meth verse than Jay so I agree with Mel in that regard. He's been killing all of his recent features

Tony is my nikka and all but Ghostface never peaked like Jay-z had. Ghostface is more consistent but I never felt like his "best shyt" was on par with Jay-z "best shyt"
Gza was an amazing lyricist but Grandmasters and Liquid Swords are his bread and butter. His other albums are kinda boring.
