He's definetly passing up free publicity and money. Didnt Meth just get his truck repo'd for tax evasion so he needs to tuck his tail and do er thing possible to make sure his family is straight

Drake introducing a whole new era to Wu Tang is a free hook up

You pay homage and people say it's disrespectful
You don't pay homage and people say it's disrespectful.....smh
Ain't no hardcore drake fan gonna turn into a wutang fan based off one song :aicmon: they prolly was like oh ain't them the nikkas that said cash rules everything and moved on listening to his CD

If a nikka can't get more than an hour to record a song then trash the whole damn thing.

What happened to working on a song until it was right and not just throwing some shyt on wax during your time constraints?

New generation man. It's all about just putting down verses, not worrying about whether they're dope or not, it's just about putting out product. Meth has always been my favorite MC and while I may b**ch and moan about his output, I applaud the man for keeping his mindset of "If my verse ain't right, I'm not messing with it." He's always been that way and he shouldn't change it just to get new fans or to get a check. Son is still touring, still working in music and is about to be on a new animated show on FXX soon, I think his pockets will be fine

Yes yes because "most people" don't know who the fukk Wu-Tang Clan is right :stopitslime:
Don't underestimate how much younger people ignore the past altogether. Some of these kids see Wayne the way previous generations saw Pac/Biggie

Trust me, has me like :mindblown: too, but it's there

I didnt dispute him potentially missing out on money. I said he chose a principled stance which he did. Meth didnt call drake disrespectful. Just wasnt feeling that shyt and dealt with it that way.

Ain't nothing corny or "bow down" about this. The biggest "new" rapper asked you, his idols, to be on a track with him. If you think turning him down is some good idea I don't know what to tell you. It ain't about principle either, considering most of these dudes have "sold out" for cash multiple times and performed with a hologram of Ole Dirty.

When Taylor Swift asks her idols to come out for a performance with her, or do a video with her, they do it. You think Fleetwood Mac is hurting for cash? Nah. They do it because they recognize Swift's fans may not know who they are, and therefore doing shyt with her=reaching new fans. I bet you Stevie Nicks thinks Taylor's music is poppy crap, but she still goes out when asked. It has nothing to do with selling out, it's about expanding your audience.

Wu been rapping to the same people for more than a decade. I'm not saying Drake was gonna give them 500k new fans or some shyt, but it's FREE publicity and you can build off that buzz.
1st off drake's idol is aaliyah (reflected in his music much more than you'll catch a wutang vibe). Drake is doing this for sustained credibility, for a reaction. Just cause someone summons you DOESNT MEAN U HAVE TO GO RUNNING for a quick buck. Wu's best move would be dropping new classics not riding drake. Or doing collabos with some new hot street nikka. Like the bieber collab, this will do nothing for wu tang.

:heh:that Bieber collab really hurt they ability to sit on a highhorse collectively I guess:laff:

I agree they are probaly not his idols at all, dude just seems very very new to rap as talented as he might be...I get the idea he's just now maybe listening to stuff that most of us probaly already heard of that was part of our era,and to make it worst he's probaly more behind than the average nikka being raised in a white household and being from the burbs of canada. Probaly heard Wutang and just is as excited as some of you mightve been when you first discovered them nikkas. Thing about when you are newley discovering classic hiphop is that you are still discovering classic hiphop:pachaha:....its a good chance hell discover more classic material from sumbody else next time around and forget about wutang. I believe he's sincere but only off the fact he hasn't heard enuff yet.
...wait til your taste is set in stone before you start makin tributes at least,or it does come off as dikkriding like u said, not that it hurts,a lot of older acts need the homage more than wutang tho

I wouldn't consider it no big honor, but business is business I guess. I don't think they need Drakes business, they're one of the few groups who's cult following always keeps they name relevant, along with the media
