It’s been nearly a decade since Method Manput out any material (he’s done myriad collaborations, but his last solo effort was 2006’s 4:21 …The Day After), but at long last the Wu-Tang rapper has announced plans to release The Meth Lab, which is set to drop on August 21 via Tommy Boy Records. According to a press release, the 17-track record features production work from Ron Browz, Allah Mathematics, J57, and 4th Disciple, and will showcase guest spots from Redman, Raekwon, Hanz On, Streetlife, and Inspectah Deck. Method broke news with a trailer animated by Tristan Zammit, which is clearly inspired by another meth-themed pop culture trope: Breaking Bad.

Method Man is releasing his new album The Meth Lab on August 21 via Hanz On/Tommy Boy. The album features guest spots from Raekwon, Redman, Inspectah Deck, Hanz On, Streetlife, and others. Watch the animated and violent "Breaking Bad"-themed album trailer below via Nerdist.

The LP will feature production from Ron Browz, Allah Mathematics, J57, and 4th Disciple. A limited double LP will be pressed on "Crystal Blue Virgin Vinyl".

In an interview with Nerdist, Method Man talked about his Staten Island focus on the new album.

I wanted this one to be a platform for more Staten Island artists to be heard that aren’t getting heard, because you know if it isn’t Wu Tang–I mean, we never blocked anyone from trying to get a record deal. I mean the way the record industry works is, if something’s not broke, don’t fix it. Bottom line is there’s a lot more talent to be heard from Staten Island outside of Wu Tang artists, and these kids are dope. I wanted to just give them a platform to be heard.

I'm :mjlol:at the bootleg "Breaking Bad" skits between the verses. Nice song but they should've just sampled the show.

Meth on this album from The Nerdist interview:

http://nerdist.com/premiere-method-...ler-for-new-recordthe-meth-lab-is-incredible/

N: What can we expect from the new album?

MM: I kept it real and low-key, like I do in my studio. I know a lot of artists that have reached out, but I wanted to save those artists for my last Method Man album. I’m on every song, but I’m not exactly on any songs by myself, with the exception of one.

SO .. is he off Def Jam .... or is Meth Lab for Tommy Boy and Crystal Meth his last for Def Jam?

Is this some type of Method an Presents: yadda ya.. since he's introdcing new artists and it also a way to get an album released through somebody else if he's still obligated to Def Jam

Only dropped one weak album, rest was *fire - cannot wait.

*Tical 2: Judgement Day, I never bothered with the skits. Have only heard the album with those skits like once, without them it's :blessed:

Taking the 13 skits off helps tremendously
