Rap has always been a young man’s game. Unless you do like Jay Z and keep your name around by marrying an A list celeb or like Drake coming out with music every year for two decades young people won’t know or care who you are.

As rap fans age they also don’t support older rapper the way white people support rock bands on tour for decades

Also as a teen you like what is new I remember thinking 80s rap sounded wack as a kid on hot 97 old school at noon but appreciate it as an adult
It's only been a young man's game because hip hop is relatively young itself. This ain't sports. You can be rapping at an older age. It's more so the brain rot these kids have now. Microwave instant music they listen to.

It's about music.

Old soul, rock, funk etc., bands can keep touring because the music and live performances are worth it. You get a show with some dancing, elite instrumentals and great singing.

What rappers are truly entertaining to see in person compared to any great legacy non-rap act?

Like if Cash Money went on tour in 2000, they'd sell out everything because it's the hottest ticket on Earth with a bunch of new hits. Would people have the same energy 30 years later?

What rappers put on a show like James Brown, Michael Jackson, Prince, Earth Wind & Fire? You can make money touring at your peak because you're the hottest act in the country....but legacy touring is about the quality of the show and people feeling like they'll get their money's worth. It's like someone standing on stage, dropping poetry to a beat. Most people don't want that.

Method man have to stay overseas who appreciate older rap artist more than the microwave United States who in a large scale doesn’t care

Raekwon stay overseas and up in Canada

That's because most of the other parts of the world are more educated and can appreciate Hip Hop a bit more...Also, music in most forms is respected in that part of the globe...

Not here..
