Metroid Prime 2 was the best of the Prime series.

MP2 on hard was dope for the level of challenge without being too frustrating. I prefer 1 because 2 had some of the most tedious backtracking in any game I've played.

On topic, Metroid Prime is in my top 5. I wasn't that hype for it when it dropped compared to Zelda, but it was more addictive/immersive than anything else at the time. I quit the game for a couple weeks when I couldn't get through the mines though, that long segment with no save point :sadcam:.

The game was great and the multiplayer in 2 was actually fun, If nintendo had gotten online gameplay in check metroid would have owned Halo. Imagine that game on PS3 and XBOX shyt imagine most of those classics on the other systems. I hope nintendo crashes and burns like sega and start making games only for both consoles

:leostare:

The multiplayer was great but Halo was out of it's league without a doubt.

It's a shame Nintendo doesn't care about voice acting. These games had a great atmosphere, but you literally had to go around and scan everything to know where to go and what to do. Oh, and all the backtracking that was necessary.

The presentation could have been much better.

I think that's one of the best things about the prime series.
Little to no voice acting and lots of scanning for items/Plants/Animals/Machinery or just the world in general, it gives all of the different locations their own distinct identity and makes the world a character itself, which logically changes and presents new hazards and different life as you traverse it.

That and the feeling of truly being "Samus" we're rarely if ever taken out of playing that character,Halo has a similar kind of approach and definitely
took from the prime series in later titles, in particular Halo 4.

Run Thru U Like Skattebo
if only we could get a metroid game that has the commitment to fully voice acted scenes like other M, combined with the subtlety of prime

A couple things....

"Metroid Prime: Corruption" on Wii was the best of the trilogy.

They need to make one for the Wii-U. I'd cop that console the day that game dropped.

And lastly, as @Insensitive said, voice acting doesn't really fit the "Metroid" series. There was a little bit in "Corruption" but the series is mostly about being alone exploring deserted planets, most of the time she has no one to talk to.

Finally playing Metroid Prime for the first time.

I had a GameCube back in the day, but as a kid - the only games I got were the ones I could convince my parents to buy used for me. Had The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker and Twilight Princess, had Super Mario: Sunshine, had Paper Mario, and a handful of others - but never any of the Metroid games.

Now that I’ve had a Switch for a few years, I thought I’d go ahead and purchase some of the classics and remastered games I’d never played before.

And this game is incredible, even moreso because it came out in 2002. I find the controls to also be head and shoulders above other games like Resident Evil 4 (which I also recently purchased for nostalgia’s sake).

I’ve only been playing for about 6 hours or so - but this has probably been my favorite game purchase of the last year.

Are you playing the remastered version with updated controls? The original was a great game for its time but the control scheme didn’t age well
