But that's exactly how whole travel advisories are drawn up for African countries.. you just making my point
Any violence anywhere is enough to throw the whole country under travel advisory but in mexico tourists can die and government officially can die and it's still game on. Nobody declaring them unsafe but they really are. Try being a foreign tourist destination country in any other continent and loosing multiple tourists to violence annually and see if you aren't flagged for life as a no fly zone
THERE'S BEEN A TRAVEL ADVISORY TO MANY PARTS OF MEXICO FOR ALMOST 10 YEARS. WE HAD TO SIT THROUGH A VIDEO AND SIGN MAD PAPERS EVERY TIME WE WENT TO HERMOSILLO AND CHIHAUHUA. WE DROVE MOST OF THE TIME SO WE HAD ESCORTS THROUGH SOME AREAS.
WE HAD 2 TIMES WHERE IT WAS DEEMED NOT SAFE AND WE DROVE OUR VEHICLES ONTO CAR HAULERS AT THE BORDER AND FLEW OVER OR FLEW HOME.
MEXICO HAS MAD TRAVEL ADVISORIES. THEY JUST AREN'T CONSTANT.
He had a campaign to win. Cartels invest millions into campaigns for the people they want in that position. I'm not sure how this doesn't make sense to you. Understand this. Mexican officials are very corrupt. Even the ones who seem to be hard on Cartels.

THats pretty much how it is to CACs, they not vacationing in Juarez, its a big country. they only going to select resort towns that dont have a similar rate of violent crime
Yeah a campaign he didnt make a single decision so yes it does not make sense imo. I am not saying the cartels did not do it but I do not think the reason you said it makes sense considering he was just sworn in.

They're not for play over there - cartels are the government. This happens routinely- news reporters, journalists, govt officials.. .damn that was fast...

"The newly appointed female police chief of the northern Mexican town of Meoqui was shot and killed on her way to work by a convoy of gunmen who reportedly worked for drug traffickers, authorities said.
Hermila Garcia Quinones, 38, was sworn in on Oct. 9 as chief of the 90-person police force. Despite the growing drug-related violence in the region, "La Jefa," as Garcia Quinones was known, refused to have bodyguards or carry a weapon."

Take a look at the danger zone maps of Mexico for touristsif you can find one. I was thinking about planning a long road trip through Mexico, from what I remember basically the whole east coast is a no go zone up to the vacation areas.
I think they made the get down or lay down call after he got elected and he made the wrong choice.
