No they're NOT. Many "Mexicans" who us New Yorkers think are Mexicans are actually Guatemalans or Hondurans.

I worked in a lot of kitchens in the city, you’re absolutely right, not all “mexicans” are mexicans.

But they’re a lot more in brooklyn/queens than there used to be.

Since you said NY and not nyc exclusively, Mexicans and south americans are surely here and they are fukking active in long island. Mexicans but more so south Americans actually are having a large presence in certain parts of Queens. In long island they chopping people up, there's been a few unfortunate stories I hear of central Americans teens/young adults who go missing and end up being found buried in some woods in long island
