In my city we have beautiful apartments that are only low income based and majority of the tenants are immigrants.

As these apartment complexes are growing, the cost of living in a non-low income apartment has increased leaving a lot of people in a tough situation.

They make too much to be able to receive the low income apartments, yet don't make enough to live in a regular apartment either.

I was admittedly just thinking of goods and services

But there is also the opportunity costs - sure strawberries would cost more but they may be forced to employ people at a higher wage and employees will have some recourse when the years of spraying pesticide chemicals catch up with them and the body can no linger fight the toxicity - motivating farmers to use safer things with our food
