There were 150 killings in Tijuana alone since Jan. 1st.

some of the stuff I read by chance was crazy recently, it sounds like it's worse than ever and coverage has dropped

I think it's because its mainly crime shyt, and isn't affecting tourism like before.

Given the size of the country, using merely the number of homicides to determine this ranking is pretty flawed methodology.
We need per capita murders

I'm not sure - it can go either way.

What was more violent - World War 2, which killed 3% of the entire world's population, or the Angolan Civil War, which killed over 5% of Angola's population?

Sure, the Angolan Civil War had a higher "per capita" body count, but there's something to be said for raw numbers too. There's a legitimate reason to say that 25,000 people getting murked in a big country like Mexico is a bigger deal than 5,000 people getting murked in a small country like El Salvador, even if the rate is El Salvador is higher.

Not that it really matters though. They are BOTH terribly violent right now. Arguing about who is #1 is kinda useless in the end, they both need to be addressed.

Per capita can be flawed.

Chicago has a lower per capita murder rate than other smaller cities like Gary, Indiana for example, but there’s neighborhoods in Chicago with similar population to a city like Gary and higher murder rates.

DEpends what they're using as a s barometer for 'violent', but I doubt Mexico is that high. It has one of the lowest murder rates in the Caribbean, Central and South America. You still have El Salvador, Honduras and the situation in Venezuela right now etc

Anyway, Cheeto will keep us safe :troll:
