i was required to read it for a demography class on immigration (my main focus is on fertility/death rate in the AA community) that i took. it definitely reshaped my opinion on what i think of the illegals here. they really do go through some crazy ass life or death struggles, but it really chronicles how different mexico's treatment of immigrants is compared to america's is. my opinion on it all is very nuanced and honestly changes weekly. it's really one of the hardest issues i've ever thought about politically.

Like how they tried to deport the indigenious people of Mexico to Guatamala. The people in the article already were born and live in Mexico. They just wanted to earn some money to buy stuff and go home.Mexico tortures migrants – and citizens – in effort to slow Central American surge
I disagree with all these tactics being used in this article, but maybe people should see how Mexico does immigration....to get some perspective on the debate in the U.S....
The biggest issue is the lack of economic opportunity for people around the world. If people are able to provide for themselves they will stay where they are most of the time.
