depending on the day, i dig those original 12 inch versions over the album versions. the gas drawls one especially.

I think the Gas Drawls 12 was the first DOOM song I heard. I think it was also part of how I found SOHH

back around 99 I got this tape from a homie. on it was "It Sounded like a Roc". it was crazy cause I never heard the song, but right away I knew it was a KMD song off their unreleased album. this was right around the time music being on the interweb was blowing up, and I had this epiphany that maybe I could find some info on the unreleased Black b*stards album, since apparently there were some songs out there (aside from those on the "What a Niggy Know" single). that search led me to sandboxautomatic, where Fondle Em had released that "KMD Ruffs + Rares" album. also there it said Zev had some new stuff under the name MF DOOM. I remember they had a crappy real-audio snippets of the songs on the 12's. I heard Gas Drawls, and was just like :krs: :blessed:

not to be corny, but it was pretty much exactly what was missing from hip-hop for me at the time. another crazy part was I found out about Doomsday, saw the cover, and I had just recently seen that CD at this little local shop by me. I remember I peeped the Dr Doom cover, like "wtf is this :heh: ". anyway I ran back and copped that CD, and it was on from there (I copped Slum Village Vol 1 at the same shop). somewhere in all that I also found SOHH

Hear ye, hear ye! How dare ye
Go up against the king who do his thing tri-yearly?
They're too carefree with their mouths around here
Off with his head, and display it at Town Square
On top a seven-feet spike, make sure it's on tight
In light of when the peasants throw stones with all their might
Skull get smashed for weeks
'Til vulture beaks eats the last meat off your cheeks
Maybe then they'll know the right words to speak
Out loud, at home, in the world, or in the streets
It's no escape, just in case
All the kings' mens and 'em decides to go apes
The most slick-talking of burly guys
Get caught and boiled in oil like curly fries
Even those that's Mr. Furley's size that earned the fate

Could all get burned at the stake
Send word to his closest kins, that for his sins
We claim his throne, his providence, and its citizens
In the name of King Geedorah! ...

Don't make him catch a seizure ... :wow:
